Can I really use the Joy_ gift card for anything online?
You can redeem your Joy_ gift card for almost any physical product you find online.*
Sneakers, books, a coffee machine — if it’s a real product from a regular retailer, we can usually make it happen.
A few things we can’t buy (by law or by how the internet works):
18+ products (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, adult content)
Gift cards or store vouchers
Digital-only products (e.g., software, subscriptions)
Services (e.g., tickets, spa, classes)
Financial assets or value stores (e.g., currencies, crypto, gold, stocks)
Strictly limited or “drop”-only items
Products sold only for a very short time or in flash sales
Items offered by private sellers (marketplaces, classifieds, peer-to-peer)
If you’re unsure about an item, just ask — we love making wishes come true (within the rules).
How does Joy_ make money?
Fairness is key for us.
Joy_ makes money when a gift card is redeemed. We buy the chosen product from the online shop. For some orders, we receive a commission from the online shop, for example through affiliate programs.
This allows us to run our service: ordering, shipping, returns, and support. You sit back. We take care of the rest.
The recipient never pays anything extra. There are no fees and no markups. The full gift card value goes into the product.
What price does the recipient pay?
It’s simple: The recipient never pays more than the regular online price of the product. They simply share the product URL of their desired product with us.
Which price applies — the one from my link or the RRP?
It’s always the price from your link, not the RRP. Since shop prices or shipping costs can sometimes change at short notice, we’ll ask during redemption whether a price increase of up to €10 is okay, or if you’d like us to check back first. But as a rule: always the price in your link.
How do you handle discount or voucher codes?
If there are generally valid discount codes (for example public promotions or newsletter codes) and you share them with us when redeeming your Joy_, we’ll always try to apply them for you.
That said, we can’t make any guarantees.
Discount codes can change, expire, or come with specific shop conditions that are outside of our control. Still, we’ll always do our best 💛
What we can’t apply:
personal discount codes
employee benefits
corporate or company codes
other individually assigned special conditions
These codes are usually tied to a personal account or user and can’t be transferred, which means we’re unfortunately unable to use them.
How does it even work that the card works so flexible?
Super simple: when redeeming, the recipient just enters the product name or the product link (URL). We take care of the rest, get the product, and send it straight to their home. Does the gift card expire?
Yes, but no rush. Joy_ gift cards are valid for three years, as required by law. Happiness shouldn’t have a deadline.
What if there’s a problem?
Just email us at hello@givingjoy.de – we usually reply within 12 hours. We’re here until everything’s sorted
Can I send the gift card right away?
Yes! You can send it instantly via email or WhatsApp – or print it as a nice card. If you choose our premium printed card, shipping takes about 3–5 days.
Are there any extra fees or deductions?
No. Buying a €50 card means gifting €50. No fees, no deductions. The recipient can use the full amount to wish for anything they like.
What can the recipient buy with Joy_?

Is the money from the gift card safe until it’s used?
Yes. The balance is securely held with us. Joy_ is a German company based in Berlin, and the money stays here until the card is redeemed.
Which payment methods do you accept?
The usual suspects: credit card, PayPal, and whatever else shows up at checkout.
Can businesses buy Joy_ cards?

Shipping
Can I deliver to a pick-up point or Packstation?
Not yet. For now we can only handle standard home delivery.
How can I track my order?
Once placed, we’ll forward all tracking emails to you.
When will my product arrive?
Delivery times depend, usually your order arrives within 2 to 5 days, rarely longer. Of course, we’ll keep you updated by email.
Can I cancel my order after it’s placed?
Depends on the store. If it hasn’t shipped yet, usually yes. Just shoot us a message!
What if I never received my product?
Reach out at hello@givingJoy_.de. We’ll check with the store and reorder or refund, depending on their policy.
Returns & Refunds
Can I get a replacement instead of a refund?
Yes. Contact us and we’ll arrange it.
Where is my refund sent?
Refunds go back to your Joy__ balance. If you paid extra, that part also goes to your Joy__ card.
How do I return a product?
Returns follow the store’s policy. Email us, and we’ll send instructions and the return label.
Redemption
What if a wish costs more or less than the balance?
Easy: if the wish costs more, the recipient can pay the difference themselves. If it costs less, the remaining balance stays available – they can simply make another wish later.
Can I cancel my redemption?
Yes, within 24h of your request. Just email us with your 9-digit code.
Can I redeem more than one product with my card?
Yes. As long as your balance covers it, you can redeem multiple products.
Why was I charged more than expected?
Shipping isn’t included in the price you enter. By redeeming, you agree that: – We may go ahead if the final price is up to €10 higher (shipping or small price changes). – Typical shipping is €2–6, often free. – If the total is more than €10 higher, we’ll contact you first. You can also choose to always approve before we buy.

What if I try to order a restricted product?
We’ll cancel the request and let you know so you can pick something else.
What if the product isn’t found on Joy_?

Can I redeem my balance in parts?
Yes. You don’t have to spend it all at once.
What happens if I lose my gift card?
No worries. As long as you still have your 9-digit code, your balance is safe. If you lose that too, email us.
Will the giver see when I redeem the card?
No, it’s private. Only you and Joy__ know.
