Can I really use the Joy_ gift card for anything online?
Hey, a Joy_ gift card isn't like a regular gift card. With a Joy_ gift card, you can fulfill almost any wish online. From your favorite perfume to a new pair of shoes, a coffee machine, or a brand new spade. Joy_ really is the most flexible gift card out there.
It works simply: you tell us which product you want, just by sharing the product URL from your favorite online shop. We're your small digital wish concierge: we go fetch the product and ship it straight to your home.
There are just a few exceptions we can't fulfill for legal reasons, like other gift cards, age-restricted products such as alcohol or tobacco, digital goods and subscriptions, as well as purchases from private seller platforms. Apart from that, you can pick any wish from your favorite online shop, like Zalando, Apple, IKEA and many more.
How does Joy_ make money?
Fairness matters to us, so we're being completely transparent here.
Joy_ makes money whenever a gift card is redeemed. We buy the wished product at the respective online shop. For some orders, we receive a commission or payment from the online shop, for example through affiliate programs.
This is how we finance our service: ordering, shipping, returns, and support. We really take care of everything.
The recipient doesn't incur any extra costs. No fees, no markups. The full value of the gift card goes into the product.
What price does one pay for their dream product?
The person that redeems their gift card for a product pays the regular shop price, no strings attached. There are no surcharges or fees.
Which price applies: the one from my link or the RRP?
Don't worry: the current price at the respective online shop always applies. If the price fluctuates, the price at the time of ordering is automatically used.
If a product can't be offered - or only at a higher price - due to special shipping or sales conditions like Prime, the order may be blocked. In that case, Joy_ Support will reach out to you directly, you don't need to worry about a thing.
How do you handle discount or voucher codes?
We really do our best to give you the same shopping experience as on the online shop where you place your order. That means we try to honor automatic discounts or promotions whenever possible.
But we can't always guarantee it.
At the moment, we can't apply discount codes. The same goes for bulk discounts or loyalty programs of the online shops. Still, we want to make your experience as good as possible, and we check if we can apply a fitting code here and there. 💛
How does it even work that the card works everywhere?
Picture us as your small digital wish concierge. You tell us which product you want by simply copying the product link from your favorite online shop. We go fetch the product and ship it straight to your home.
If your wish costs a bit more, no problem at all. You can simply pay the difference yourself. That's how bigger wishes work too.
And if you have any balance left over, it doesn't expire. You can pick a second wish later, even from a completely different online shop.
Does the gift card expire?
Yes, but Joy_ gift cards only expire after 3 years, as required by law. So you have plenty of time to pick the perfect product.
How can I reach you?

Can I gift the card instantly?
Yes, really straightforward. Right after purchase you can send the digital gift card via WhatsApp, email, or hand it over directly as a self-printed card. If you have a bit more time, you can also order a premium card from our printing partner, which arrives in about 3-5 working days.
Are there any fees or hidden costs?
No, you don't have to worry. There are no extra costs or fees. Pay €50, gift €50. That's it.
Is my money safe with Joy_?
Yes, your money is safe with Joy_, you can count on that. Joy_, officially Gifting Technologies GmbH, is a German company based in Berlin.
What payment methods are accepted?

In what form can I give the gift card?
Joy_ comes in four formats, all personalizable with a photo or video, so your gift fits exactly the way you want:
1. Digital: Right after purchase, you receive a code, link, and QR code. You can send the digital gift card directly via WhatsApp or email.
2. Self-print as PDF: You get a PDF file with the gift card design of your choice, ready to print at home.
3. Premium card: A gift card made of sturdy cardboard, printed and delivered within 3-5 working days.
4. Wine label as PDF: Turn an ordinary wine bottle into a Joy_ gift card that truly makes an impression. You receive the label as a PDF and stick it onto a wine bottle at home.
Shipping
Can I have something delivered to a parcel locker (Packstation)?
No, that's not possible. For security reasons, we can only deliver to a home or residential address, so your wish really arrives safely.
How do I track my order?
You'll always get access to your chosen portal, where you can check the status of your order anytime. So you're always in the loop.
When will my product arrive?

Can I cancel my order after it's placed?

What if my product never arrives?

Returns & Refunds
Can I get a replacement instead of a refund?
Of course it' possible, we take care of everything for you: we clear the return with the shop, organize the replacement product, and make sure your wish still arrives at home. Just drop us a quick line at hello@givingjoy.de, you'll hear back from us within 12 hours, we handle the rest.
Where is my refund sent to?
It's really uncomplicated. Refunds go back to your Joy_ balance. If you paid extra, that share also lands back on your Joy_ card.
How do I return a product?
Really easily. Write to us at hello@givingjoy.de or do it directly yourself in your wish portal. We really take care of everything, making sure you get all the info and a return label, in case none came with the package. You don't have to worry about a thing.
Redemption
What if my dream product costs more than my gift card balance?
No problem, this works really smoothly. You just pay the difference yourself, directly at redemption. That way you can treat yourself to pricier wishes too, even if your balance isn't quite enough.
Can I cancel my redemption?
Yes, you can cancel your redemption. Just write to us with your 9-digit code, or do it directly in your chosen portal, where you can manage everything yourself.
Can I redeem more than one product with my card?
Yes, it's really straightforward. As long as your balance lasts, you can redeem multiple products. And if your balance isn't enough for a wish, you can simply pay the difference. That way you can treat yourself to pricier wishes too, even if your balance isn't very high.
Why was I charged more than expected?
Don't worry, in full transparency: you always only pay the shipping costs you'd pay at the normal online shop. We never add higher shipping costs, we just pass them through.
Sometimes we can't read a shop's shipping costs directly yet. Then we block a small amount on your card and deduct it afterwards. Same rule applies: never more than you'd normally have paid at the shop.
How does the recipient redeem the gift card?
Really easily in just a few steps:
Click the link or scan the QR code. The recipient gets both when they receive the gift card.
Enter the 9-digit code. It's printed right on the gift card.
Optional: view the personal message. If the giver left a photo, video, or note, you'll see it here.
Enter the wish. Either type the product name into the search field or just paste the product link (URL).
Lean back. Joy_ buys the product and delivers it straight to your home. You don't have to worry about a thing.
What if there's a balance left?
The remaining balance stays on your card and can be redeemed any time for another wish, even at a completely different online shop. That's exactly what makes Joy_ so incredibly flexible, you don't have to spend it all at once.

What if I try to order a restricted product?
Don't worry, we let you know right away that this product unfortunately doesn't work, and you can wish for something new directly. Your balance stays untouched, of course.
What if the product isn't found on Joy_?
Don't worry, we really want to make every wish possible, within the exceptions described in the FAQs above. If you can't find a product with us because the link isn't working for some reason, we promise: we'll still make it happen. You just enter the product name and shop manually, we take care of the rest so this wish gets fulfilled too.

Can I redeem my balance in parts?
Yes, it's really straightforward. You don't have to spend it all at once. Make one wish first, and if there's a balance left, you can use it later for the next wish whenever you want. And if the balance isn't quite enough: just pay the difference, that way you use the full value either way.
What happens if I lose my gift card?
No worries, we'll figure it out. As long as you still have your 9-digit code, your balance is safe. If you've lost the code too, just reach out to us at hello@givingjoy.de, you'll hear back from us within 12 hours.
Will the giver see when I redeem the card?
No, it's completely private. You don't have to worry about a thing. The giver sees neither when you redeem nor what you chose. Your wish stays entirely your secret.
